FERNANDES, Vladimir. Thinking of educational ethics formation: contributions from aristotelian and kantian perspectives. Conjectura: filos. e Educ. [online]. 2018, vol.23, n.3, pp.492-512.  Epub 28-Jul-2019. ISSN 2178-4612.  https://doi.org/10.18226/21784612.v23.n3.4.

This article tries to offer some conceptual subsidies to think about the ethical subject, since the Law of Directives and Bases of Education establishes among the aims of education in High School: “the improvement of the student as a human person, including ethical formation and the development of intellectual autonomy and critical thinking”. So, we asked: What does it mean to be ethical? Is being improved in your humanity is also an ethical being? Is an ethical being also autonomous and critical? Aiming to shed light on these questions, this article adopts as reference the aristotelian finalist ethic and the kantian rational ethics, seeking to present the central ideas of these theories, as well as the convergent aspects to think the figure of the ethical agent to be prepared by the school. The text is divided into five items, preceded by an introduction. The first discusses the concepts of morality and ethics seeking to define them from the etymological origin. The second item addresses some of the main ideas of the Aristotelian finalist ethic, aiming at subsidies to think about the ethical subject. The third item, with the same purpose as the previous one, exposes the central theses of Kantian rational ethics. The fourth item seeks points converging between Aristotelian and Kantian ethics, arguing that being ethical also presupposes being autonomous and critical. Finally, the last item retakes the main ideas of the text and presents the final considerations.
