The text presents, in brief, four theories or models of democracy: aggregative, deliberative, agonistic, homogeneous. It then presents various criticisms addressing such models. Considering these theories and their criticisms, the present study seeks to present elements indispensable to the treatment of democracy. In the end, it makes some critical and constructive remarks about the importance of such elements being considered when dealing with democracy.
