Abstract

AZEREDO, Vânia Dutra de. Philosophy and ethics of discourse: the moderate foundationalist in Habermas. Conjectura: filos. e Educ. [online]. 2018, vol.23, n.spe3, pp.396-410.  Epub Sep 02, 2019. ISSN 2178-4612.  https://doi.org/10.18226/21784612.v23.dossie.19.

In this text, we seek to show from Habermas’ text “The philosophy as keeper of place and interpreter” as well as the philosopher considerations about the ethics of discourse, which has in the habermasian thought the proposition of a moderate foundationalism in ethics which reveals itself in search of a rational justification for the moral norms starting from the necessary assumptions of argumentation in general, refusing, with this, an absolute foundationalism which puts itself beyond the history and the assent of the involved, leaving Habermas to review the role of philosophy, which turns to be as interpreter and guardian of rationality and the dimension of reason, understood as dialogic rather than monological.

Keywords : Reason; Ethics; Foundationalism; Argumentation; Validity.
