From the conceptual analysis of art and artistic expression, this article aims to situate the discussion of art teaching in synthesis to the critical assumptions of Walter Benjamin. Firstly, the meaning of the birth of art, itscultural valorization and its social function are rescued, so that, later, with the assumptions of the Critical Theory, it is possible to verify the contradictions with its disintegration today, appropriated by the Cultural Industry as a commodity value. In this way, the technical reproduction of the work of art becomes the categorical foundation for the critique and denudation of the decaying forms that art is “visualized” in modernity. The reduction of aesthetic forms of perception of art is expressed in the decay of experience, the ability to narrate, in the transmission crisis, in short, in art teaching.
