Abstract

CORREA, Mirele  and  CERVI, Gicele Maria. Performativity: crossings of a control device in the constitution of a school subjects. Conjectura: filos. e Educ. [online]. 2020, vol.25, e020030. ISSN 2178-4612.  https://doi.org/10.18226/21784612.v25.e020030.

This article is part of a larger research that is characterized as being post-critical. The text seeks through an analysis of the speeches of students from the 3rd year of Innovative High School Program in a state public school in the city of Blumenau – SC to evidence the speeches of performance present there. The culture of performativity, emerging from the economic-business sector and spreading to public / state sectors is understood as a device that acts in the regulation and control of bodies, producing the desirable subjects for this current neoliberal society. By stimulating excellence, competitiveness, judgment, quality and results, this culture contributes to the school becoming a great business of selection and meritocracy. Through cartographic research and with records in a field diary, this article aims to problematize which subjectivities are being produced by the contemporary school from a given curriculum, and, then, to challenge thinking in the construction of other subjectivities, possibilities of re-existence, in addition to numbers, figures and statistics. The article is divided into an introductory section on the theme of governmentality, a section in which contemporary society and the role of the school and curriculum are contextualized; another that presents the analysis of student speeches; and finally, some questions that consider the school a piece of machinery that produces a lot and produces everything. It can produce what is expected for this society, the performative subject, consumer of neoliberal rationality, as well as it can produce escape lines, resistances, ethical impostures, against conducts to what is set.
