This work presents reflections on the pedagogical approach called Active Methodologies, which are being presented as an alternative to improving teaching-learning results in Brazil. Through a bibliographic review, some of the main elements of Active Methodologies are presented, mainly their most evident characteristics. We also sought to bring into the discussion some questions about this pedagogical approach, indicating the existence of possible difficulties that could compromise the application of Active Methodologies. Based on the reflections exposed in this article, it is highlighted that further studies are needed on the potential and difficulties of implementing Active Methodologies, analyzing effective results of active learning.
