This article aims to elucidate how various forms of violence experienced by the transgender population in Brazil, focusing on the challenges and difficulties they encounter in the educational sphere. Studies have demonstrated repeated processes of discrimination, hatred, prejudice and family and social abandonment involving this group, which exposes it to degrading situations of life and violates The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948), built on the premise that the Society must be able to guarantee justice, life and freedom. However, contrary to this treatise, violence with the “trans” population has manifested itself in all the spaces of the Brazilian society in an implicit and/or explicit way, reproducing itself in educational institutions. In spite of the nature of this institution – locus per excellence of the stimulus to the plurality of ideas, cultures, ways of being and making, therefore, a place of encounter, welcoming and human formation-the school has reproduced the “cisnormativity”, that is, validation of norms, rules and values considered adequate and “normal” by the bourgeois society, thus infringing respect for sexual, gender and transgender diversity. This scenario requires continued efforts of social movements, institutions and civil society to ensure social rights and respect for the transgender population, as well as provoking us to continue questioning the hypocrisies, creating transgressions and philosophizing, as Noel Rosa suggests in his composition “Philosophy”.
