The aim of this study is to present a systematic review of the literature on the application of intellectual virtues in the context of educational practice. Eight databases considered the most relevant due to the scientific rigor and recognition of production quality were consulted to survey the scientific articles. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, five scientific articles were selected to be evaluated. In the results obtained it was possible to verify the scarcity of scientific production on the subject, especially in Brazil, since most of the productions are international. Discussions about the teaching of intellectual virtues still have many divergences and gaps, which is normal, considering its short time of existence.
