Abstract

TOURINHO, Carlos Diógenes Côrtes. The determinations exercised by the identical self, the properties of subjective life and the somatic body in Husserl. Conjectura: filos. e Educ. [online]. 2023, vol.28, e023022. ISSN 2178-4612.  https://doi.org/10.18226/21784612.v28.e023022.

The present paper seeks to show that the Husserlian theory about the determinations exercised by the identical self gradually reveals, as the phenomenological investigation advances, new properties of the subjective life, making the “I pole” of intentional experiences to become a “substrate of the habitus” and to determine the self as a “person”. The paper shows that such determinations make it possible to describe, in the transcendental sphere, the objective phenomenon “I, like this man”, highlighting the specificity of the somatic body in relation to other bodies and showing that it is through this body that the subjective life is linked to the world in the form of spatiality.

Keywords : Edmund Husserl; Identical Self; Subjective Life; Somatic Body.
