Abstract

Since the 13th century, the urban development and the universities consolidation generated the production of a scholarly literature aiming the academic knowledge, especially as an educational project for Christian society. In that background, the Mendicant Orders were particularly important since they were the main responsible for preaching. Among Franciscans (essential for the establishment of a large set of pedagogical resources for illiterate populations and also important within the University), we can assure that Bonaventure of Bagnoregio is the most important friar that will create a significant christocentric pedagogic tradition. Such “christologic anthropology”, that actually is a patristic heritage, will be one of the main inspiration source for the social conception from Ubertino of Casale, in the 14th Century.
