This article aims to describe the process of elaborating an Inquiry-Based Teaching Sequence and to analyze it from the perspective of Inquiry-Based Teaching, seeking elements of the didactic approach. The survey data were obtained from meetings between a researcher in the area of Science teaching and a teacher from the early years of Elementary School, for the construction of an Inquiry-Based Teaching Sequence (SEI). These meetings were recorded, transcribed and analyzed based on literature on Science Teaching by investigation. The results point to an appreciation of the school-university partnership, since it was a collaborative research, describing the process of building an SEI and the approximations of the material produced with elements of the Inquiry-Based Teaching didactic approach.
