Fake news, post-truth social impacts, and anti-science discourses have generated concern in various social sectors, especially among science education scholars. This paper aims to discuss the importance of Science teaching in the context of scientific denial. For this, we will briefly discuss the relationship between Science, society and education throughout history, the contributions of Agnotology studies, and the solutions that can contribute to critical scientific education. The urgency of building curricula that are less prescriptive, more political, and students' contexts involving is clear. Due to its characteristics, STS educational perspective has the potential to contribute to the experience of curricula that enables the defense of Science in the social and school context.
