The present contribution aims to depict the results of the research, still in progress, on the school buildings in Italy during Fascism, revealed from the analysis of the archival and printed sources recovered from several national and local archives and libraries. After the analysis of the state of research of the Italian historical and educational historiography about this issue, the present work intends to outline the features of the school spaces laid down by the regime, that was functional to the fulfilment of the educational policy aimed at the creation of a Fascist Italy. The topic has been developed through a national guideline and attempts to highlight the most critical moments in the buildings campaign fostered by the Fascist regime, which reached its highest results during Giuseppe Bottai’s ministry.
