Abstract

THIES, Vania Grim. WRITTEN HERITAGE: NON-SCHOOL NOTEBOOKS AND THEIR RELEVANCE FOR WRITTEN CULTURE. Hist. Educ. [online]. 2020, vol.24, e99000.  Epub Feb 21, 2020. ISSN 2236-3459.  https://doi.org/10.1590/2236-3459/99000.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze 55 non-school notebooks. The contents of those artifacts were classified into 10 different categories. Seeking to contribute to the field of History of Education, we conclude that the use of notebooks with no schooling purpose includes multiple records, such as registering what happened during a day, registering accounts, keeping memories, describing recipes, and other. They become, therefore, written heritage.

Keywords : History of Education; written culture; written heritage; non-school notebooks.
