Abstract

RIOS, Diogo Franco  and  PEREIRA, Marcos Villela. THE VALUE OF INFAMOUS NARRATIVES FOR HISTORY OF EDUCATION. Hist. Educ. [online]. 2021, vol.25, e104118.  Epub Sep 30, 2021. ISSN 2236-3459.  https://doi.org/10.1590/2236-3459/104118.

Using Cultural History as guideline, we include memoirs of former students in History of Education and the importance of the speech of less valued groups, placing them first, a position that is not always granted official memories. They are unique, and clarify issues that the primary sources do not allow. We question the place of the infamous in Brazilian educational historiography, by reviewing the discussion that crystallizes general views as opposed to specific views.

Keywords : history of education; oral history; memory; alumni; infamous.
