Abstract

TORO-BLANCO, Pablo. SCHOOL AESTHETICS AND EMOTIONAL REGIMES IN ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE (CHILE, 1910). Hist. Educ. [online]. 2021, vol.25, e106196.  Epub Sep 30, 2021. ISSN 2236-3459.  https://doi.org/10.1590/2236-3459/106196.

This paper addresses an episode of promotion of nationalism and patriotism in Chile’s education system; it briefly analyzes this episode based on the concepts of school aesthetics (PINEAU, 2014) and emotional regime (REDDY, 2001). Thus, we study the initiatives developed to aesthetically and affectively build patriotic feelings in the context of the celebrations of Chile’s One Hundred years of Independence (1910).

Keywords : Centenary of Independence; School Aesthetics; Chilean Education; Emotional Regimes.
