With this study, we aim to present the main historical landmarks of the struggle for the construction of Rural Education in the north of the state of Espírito Santo. The investigation, of a qualitative nature, is based on the thought of Caldart (2005, 2008, 2009, 2015); Fernandes (2001, 2009); Scarim (2009) and others. Based on the highlighted historical records, we emphasize that the educational experiences that peasants in the north of Espírito Santo have built are inserted in a broader context of struggle and confrontation against the various mechanisms of social domination. These socio-educational processes, which arise and advance from attempts to overcome the forms of reproduction of social inequalities, show that the peasantry is a living social reality and that it continuously creates strategies to guarantee its historical permanence
