This article aims to analyze the content of the academic productions of Working Groups (GTs, in Portuguese) 5 and 8 of the National Meeting of the National Association of Postgraduate Studies and Research in Education (ANPEd, in Portuguese) in order to know if and in what ways, the relationship between formation, career valuation and financing of education appears in the productions published in the annals of the National Scientific Meetings in the period 2015 to 2019. Methodologically, it is characterized as a descriptive-analytical study, of qualitative approach, inspired by assumptions of investigations called state of knowledge. The results underline that there are few studies about the connected relations between formation, valorization and financing of education in the academic productions of GT 5 and GT 8 of ANPEd. A thematic dispersion is evaluated in the academic productions of the GT's, especially GT 8, where teacher formation seems to be analyzed, in many moments, isolated from the wider political and social aspects that affect it. Finally, it is pointed out the need for other thematic approaches that do not disregard aspects related to professional development and education financing as important categories for a better understanding of teacher education today.
