This article stems from a research carried out with a 129 schools belonging to six municipal schools in the state of Bahia, whose objective has been to investigate the contexts in the execution of the resources of the Direct Money Program at Emergency School (Programa Dinheiro Direto na Escola - PDDE Emergencial, in Portuguese), within the scope of the school units. For this purpose, we opted for exploratory research, with a qualitative approach, using documental research, literature review and application of questionnaires. Data analysis was based on the assumptions of content analysis. The investigation made it possible to verify that a significant number of the investigated schools executed the resources and the main investment was directed to health safety in schools and just a little to the projects and pedagogical activities. Regarding participation and transparency in the use of resources, the data indicate that there is a strengthening of these actions in schools, although some still need to incorporate these concepts in management.
