The article presents the basic education financing model in Brazil, its evolution, current structure and main challenges from the perspective of guaranteeing the right to education. The sources of financing for education in Brazil, the mechanism for constitutionally linking resources for education and its operation, the funding policy and the main asymmetries and challenges for the coming years are addressed.
