This article aims to analyze the sources of funding for primary education in Angola in the period of 2018. It also addresses concepts about the law, the obligation and the gratuity of primary education. Thus, the understanding of this teaching constitutes the fundamental basis of the general education subsystem that aims to develop and improve the domain of communication and expression (ANGOLA, 2016). In methodological terms, a qualitative approach was chosen, through bibliographic and documentary analysis. However, the results of this research showed that primary education in Angola is free and compulsory under the terms of the Constitution and the Law, although there are limitations in the scope of its implementation. And, the Angolan government is responsible for financing basic education, despite the existence of support from multilateral organizations in Angolan education.
