RAMOS, Karen Christina de Almeida Batista; FONSECA, Lana Claudia de Souza  y  GALIETA, Tatiana. VISIONS ABOUT THE HUMAN BEING AND TEACHING PRACTICES IN THE SCIENCE AND BIOLOGY TEACHING. Rev. Exitus [online]. 2018, vol.8, n.1, pp.305-331.  Epub 23-Ene-2018. ISSN 2237-9460.  https://doi.org/10.24065/2237-9460.2018v8n1id399.

The teaching about the Human Being has been, historically, reduced to the teaching of the human body in the school disciplines as Science and Biology. In this article we present an investigation that sought to understand how the teaching practices about Human Being are related to the visions of Science and Biology teachers about the Human Being, with the intention of contributing to overcoming the already traditional fragmented and mechanistic approach. In addition, we tried to identify the possible factors that may interfere with teaching practices. Three teachers practice from the same undergraduate course and active in a municipal education network were selected as subjects of the study. Data were collected through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The teaching practices reported highlight the inclusion of students' daily life, the use of their previous conceptions and the expansion of dialogue in the classroom in line with the predominant view of Human Being focused on biological aspects, although the cultural view (which contemplate the historical and social dimensions) and the philosophical view were part of the set of conceptions presented by the research subjects. The students' curriculum, assessments and behavior appear as factors that interfere in teaching practices. Due to the results, we point out the need to expand the theme into new empirical investigations that contemplate other scenarios and different profiles of subjects.
