The purpose of this study is to analyze the initial education and remuneration of the teachers in the context of the funds policy and the National Professional Salary Floor [Piso Salarial Profissional Nacional – PSPN]. It is a documentary research with analysis focusing on the municipality of Ananindeua, Pará. The analysis of the data pointed out that although there have been advances in the number of teachers with a higher education degree, there is still a small number of lay teachers working in the municipality, which reveals that it still needs investment in teacher education public policies. The data regarding the initial remuneration policy reveals that Ananindeua fulfills the NPSF expectations, thanks to the support of FUNDEB’s resources. However, in order to guarantee a decent remuneration and to keep up with the adjustments of the teacher’s remuneration, it is necessary for the municipality, in cooperation with the State and the Union, to increase the amount of resources available for education, which will require adjustments in the FUNDEB.
