Abstract

DAMIN, Willian; SANTOS JUNIOR, Guataçara dos  and  PEREIRA, Rudolph dos Santos Gomes. TEACHING STATISTICS PROJECT IN INITIAL FORMATION OF MATHEMATICS TEACHERS: evidence of diciplinary knowledge. Rev. Exitus [online]. 2019, vol.9, n.3, pp.309-338.  Epub Apr 17, 2020. ISSN 2237-9460.  https://doi.org/10.24065/2237-9460.2019v9n3id936.

The purpose of this article is to analyze the contributions of a Statistics Teaching Project for the development and/or manifestation of disciplinary knowledge in an undergraduate mathematics teaching course. The eleven undergraduate students who took part in the study were required to read selected texts from the field of Statistical Education, to do tasks involving Basic Statistics content, and to carry out a statistical investigation. Adopting a qualitative approach, data were gathered through reflective memorials, learning narratives and the tasks done by the participants. The analysis of data was based on the Discursive Textual Analysis theory. The analysis indicates some difficulties, the valorization of Statistics contents as a field of teaching and the development of statistical skills as disciplinary knowledge.
