PEREIRA, David Ricardo da Silva  and  MOIA, Lizomar de Jesus Maués Pereira. PET-health as a reference for the preceptory of medical residency in family and community medicine. Rev. Exitus [online]. 2019, vol.9, n.3, pp.365-394.  Epub Apr 17, 2020. ISSN 2237-9460.  https://doi.org/10.24065/2237-9460.2019v9n3id923.

The medical residency program in Family and Community Medicine (MFC), like Higher Education in Brazil, experiences a need for change and adaptation. Currently, its challenge as a program is to adapt to the new profile of graduates and find the best way to guide them through the teaching-service integration in SUS. In this sense, this study proposed to analyze the methodologies of teaching and learning applied by the preceptors of the medical residency program of MFC in UEPA. This is a descriptive, exploratory study of a qualitative nature. Obtained through responses collected in a semi-structured interview with open questions. The interviews were recorded and transcribed and the data analysis followed the Bardin Content Analysis model. Through the interviews, four main thematic axes were addressed, with emphasis on the perceptions and inclination of the preceptors in the search for an improvement of the medical residency program in MFC. It was found that all preceptors adopted some kind of active teaching methodology in practice. Their interest in participating in training and continuing education programs was emphasized, while the need for a better application of tools capable of increasing the exercise of preceptory as well as the learning of the residents was highlighted. At the end, the importance of the teaching methodology model and the knowledge of several models of active teaching methodologies by the preceptors was highlighted. The need for adopting tools that were more attuned to the particularities of MFC, such as PET-Health.
