This article investigates the reading and writing processes of young and adult students of the Rural Education Course with qualification in Arts and Music of the Federal University of Tocantins from the production of comics. This study is based on Historical-Cultural theory and has as a method the Didactic-Formative Experiment. The results allow us to conclude that the comics books production was important for these students since it helped them to understand how the arts, reading and writing relate dialectically in the understanding of the stories, which is essential to increase their world knowledge and their aesthetic formation.
