THE PRINCESS HOUSE OF THE FANTI-ASHANTI HOUSE: a chromatic study in the teaching of Art in light of Law Nº 10.639 / 03. Rev. Exitus [online]. 2019, vol.9, n.4, pp.95-120.  Epub May 15, 2020. The present article deals with chromatic art in the Afro-Maranhese ritual Baião de Princesas at Fanti-Ashanti House in the city of São Luís. The study begins with an examination of Law No. 10.639 / 03, which makes it compulsory the inclusion of Afro-Brazilian and African history and culture in the school curriculum. In the perspective of the teaching of Art, specifically in the Visual Arts language, it was described the symbolism of the colors used in the vestments of the vodunsis and the decorations of the hall where the Afro-Maranhense religious ritual takes place. For textual development, theoretical contributions related to color, Afro-Brazilian religiousness and Art teaching were used. The investigation concludes that the teaching of Art can be a curricular component for the understanding and the diffusion of the religiosity of African and Afro-Brazilian matrices in the school spaces.
