Abstract

LELIS, Luziane Said Cometti  and  HORA, Dinair Leal da. EXTERNAL EVALUATION: concepts, meanings and tensions. Rev. Exitus [online]. 2019, vol.9, n.4, pp.549-575.  Epub May 15, 2020. ISSN 2237-9460.  https://doi.org/10.24065/2237-9460.2019v9n4id1025.

This study discusses the relationship between external evaluation and pedagogical practice, the understandings acquired by professionals working in the school environment, appropriations of results, tensions and strategies used to improve teaching. The meanings built with respect to external evaluation come from bibliographic review and field research carried out at a municipal public school in Belém/PA. The analyzes of the results indicate two concomitant movements/ positions that of the pedagogical managers who do not favor the results of the external tests, nor the national quality index in the organization of the pedagogical work; and that of the teachers who are "naturally" modifying their work in search of results recommended by the Basic Education Development Index (IDEB).

Keywords : External evaluation; Pedagogical practice; Regulation; Accountability.
