This study investigated advances in the production of knowledge about gender in education journals, affiliated to the Forum of Editors of Education Journals – FEPAE/ANPED-Norte/Nordeste. For this, a systematic review of the literature of the studies that were published in these journals from 2014 to 2019 and that focused on gender issues was carried out. It was concluded that this field of studies is engaged with political-pedagogical issues related to the dismantling of cisheteronormative society, with a view to building an egalitarian society and has contributed to the destabilization of norms, classifications and hierarchies in the field of education.
