Resumen

This essay aims to reflect from a historical and legal contextualization of Professional and Technological Education (PTE), on the challenges and perspectives in the educating of its professionals. The methodology employed was based on a research with a qualitative approach, anchored in the method of historical dialectical materialism and in the exploratory and descriptive objectives. The narrative bibliographic technique was also used based on the works of authors and commentators who examine the teacher educating to work at PTE. This essay presents a structure that can be described as follows: a) it deals with a brief historical and legal contextualization of PTE in Brazil; b) reflects on the challenges and perspectives of teacher educating for PTE; c) presents the final considerations. It is concluded that the PTE requires a constitutive teacher educating, systematic and capable of allowing the articulation and balanced development of general and technical knowledge, these specific to a field of science.
