HUMAN RIGHTS EDUCATION IN FEDERAL PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES OF THE AMAZON: the university pact and institutional initiatives. Rev. Exitus [online]. 2021, vol.11, e020141.  Epub Mar 26, 2022. This article to present the Human Rights Education (EDH) policy, in higher education, and some effective strategies in universities which belong to the Brazilian Amazon. The research problem encompasses which actions, in EDH, became achievable in higher education institutions in the federal-public sphere, specifically in the axes: institutionalization, affirmative actions, nuclei, collectives, chairs and observatories. It is a documentary research, whose basis of analysis is the synthetic report of initiatives of the University Pact for the Promotion of Respect for Diversity, Culture of Peace and Human Rights, consolidated by the Ministry of Education, in 2018. The results show that, although it is an exemplary list of actions in EDH, there have been institutionalized advances, especially regarding social diversity in the Amazon, which can be replicated and which have a capillary effect in the university community but require a greater exchange of experiences between Higher Education Institutions, for network consolidation.

Keywords : Human Rights Education; University Pact; Public University.
