This article results from an analysis of the precariousness of human lives, their subjectivities and the growing tenseness between the anti-gender offensive and dissidents of hetero-cis-normativity. Our research problematizes how school life addresses this dispute, based on the corporeality of deviant bodies. With the increasing propagation of hate speech in recent years, we find ourselves in a field of great tension, conflict and dispute that afflict various groups of women, native tribes, quilombolas and the LGBTI+ community. This scenario, although it might paint a pessimist and defeatist dystopian picture, has mobilized us to search for different strategies to face hate speeches that disqualify certain groups of people. We also believe disputes tend to build distinct narratives, especially regarding educational public policies that target discrimination, prejudice and violence. This text presents research findings that take into consideration pedagogical practices against gender violence and LGBTphobia in the daily life of schools in Rio de Janeiro, focusing on the complexity of gender violence and the prospects for its reduction. Our analyses were mainly conducted in dialogue with gender and sexuality studies, from a post-critical perspective. That being said, the continuing education of teachers has shown potential to produce positive effects in the fight against all kinds of violence towards a more democratic, anti-sexist, anti-racist and anti-LGBTphobic society and human rights for all.
