This article aims to problematize African and Afro-Brazilian culture through pedagogical practices and continuing teacher training, in view to anti-raciste ducation, seeking to denaturalise concepts established in the school environment, which reproduce and reinforce ethnic-racial inequality. The research was carried out in a Graduate Programme in Education at a federal university located in the north of Brazil/Amazon. This is na interventional study, adopting a methodology with elements of post-critical research. The study involved teachers and the management team. Meetings were held, which consisted of formative moments to study, problematize and discuss the issue. Photographic records and speech recordings were used as data collection tools, taking for analysis the pedagogical practices developed by the teachers during and after the training meetings. The results show that the participants used diferente practices, deconstructing previous practices - especially those who were most resistant to combating racism, prejudice and discrimination -, starting to value African and Afro-Brazilian culture through their pedagogical practices in the classroom, seeking to promote na anti-racist education.
