Abstract

SILVA, Edna Alves Pereira da; HORAS, Jean Leandro  and  MOLL, Jaqueline. MUSIC AS AN INSTRUMENT FOR DECOLONIAL EDUCATION FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF LIFELONG EDUCATION: a reflection based on the ENPEC proceedings. Rev. Exitus [online]. 2025, vol.15, e025014.  Epub June 12, 2025. ISSN 2237-9460.  https://doi.org/10.24065/re.v15i1.2794.

This article is the result of a bibliographical survey carried out in the annals of the National Research Meetings on Science Education (ENPEC) of the last six editions, covering the last ten years. The aim was to investigate what was published in these annals on the themes: Decolonial Education, Music, Integral Education and Lifelong Learning, as well as checking for possible interconnections between them. 20 papers were found, but none addressed the themes in an integrated way. The choice of the ENPEC Annals is justified by their relevance as an interdisciplinary space, conducive to reflection and, in this way, by bringing the themes closer together, we seek not only to verify the texts already published, but also to motivate new research that relates to this approach. We emphasize that music is an instrument for promoting/offering a decolonial education aimed at lifelong human formation (Silva, 2017; Castelões, 2024), and stimulating new research involving these themes could provide new interdisciplinary studies, broadening the understanding of the integration between the subjects addressed, favoring pedagogical practices that value local and ancestral knowledge. These investigations have the potential to enrich the educational field, promoting a more inclusive, critical and transformative education.

Keywords : Music; Decolonial Education; Lifelong learning.
