The present study aims to identify the place of the teacher in secondary education policies: what the research says. With authors of theses and dissertations, published in the CAPES repository, Bank of Theses and Dissertations, and in the Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), it was possible to have access to research carried out in state education networks, in the states: Rio Grande do South, Santa Catarina, Rio de Janeiro, Espirito Santo, Ceará and Mato Grosso do Sul, based on Federal Law No. 13,415, which imposed the new secondary education on the country From the selected research, it shows that most states present precarious teaching work, a reduction in curricular components in areas of knowledge, loss of workload, the role of the school is presented as a trainer, and also in the majority of states investigated, the teacher has no place in the construction of policy.
