This paper is about the educational newsletter A Vitória Colegial, published by Colégio Santo Inácio along the 1950s. The section I aims to point the dialectic relationship between history of education, sociology and history. The section II discusses the extent to which the newsletter was tuned with and able to depict the cultural environment of that decade. The last section aims to highlight editorial and writing strategies employed by the newsletter to reinforce the belief of the school’s pattern of excellence in regard to both school and private life.
