Abstract

SOARES, Jefferson da Costa. The Teachers of Colégio Pedro II: categories, directions followed and identity aspects (1925-1945). Rev. Bras. Hist. Educ [online]. 2015, vol.15, n.3, pp.294-321. ISSN 2238-0094.  https://doi.org/10.4025/rbhe.v15i3..717.5.

This article presents the results from a study based on a doctoral project which intended to know and understand the aspects of construction of professional identity of teachers from the Colégio Pedro II, from 1925 to 1945, a period characterized by the Rocha Vaz, Francisco Campos e Gustavo Capanema Reforms. These aspects, identified from a documentary research, were analyzed based on the concepts of self-identity and identity for the others by Dubar (1997), and linked to the Institutional Program, by Dubet (2002). We confirmed remarkable aspects in the construction of their career and also we concluded that those teachers were self-contained, in the attempt to incorporate privileges which were not extended to other institutions of the secondary education.
