Abstrac: In this article, we analyze aspects of educational memory, cultural and social development of the municipality of Juazeiro-BA, taking as a source of research two notebooks and a class journal produced by Professor Franca Pires and students, in the period that includes the 1950s and 1980. These documents allow you to build interpretations about education in different historical moments and seize them a number of situations, facts and unique experiences of everyday school life. The study raises theoretical and methodological discussions transiting in the areas of education history and cultural history, putting in evidence the multiplicity of themes and possibilities of research and knowledge production in the framework of personal files.
