Abstract

GONCALVES, Irlen Antônio  and  NOGUEIRA, Vera Lúcia. Space of training of the worker in minas gerais at the dawn of the republic. Rev. Bras. Hist. Educ [online]. 2018, vol.18, e025.  Epub June 01, 2018. ISSN 2238-0094.  https://doi.org/10.4025/rbhe.v18.2018.e025.

Abstract: The article discusses about the areas of formation of the worker from Minas Gerais, problematizing the initiatives of schooling proposed by the legislators, factory owners and the factory workers’ leaderships at the end of the XIX and beginning of XX centuries. For that, it’s taken as sources the educational legislation, the reports from the education inspectors, the annals and the newspapers from the given state. The analysis took as reference existing elements in the new approaches of political history, under the cultural perspective. The proposals of vocational education developed on the scholar groups, as well the initiatives of schooling inside the factories and worker’s school, provide evidence that the formation of workers was assumed under a disciplinary and founding of citizenship approach.

Keywords : professional education; schooling; the worker's education.
