Abstract: It is sought in this article to understand the lines of action and function of the National Campaign for the Education of the Blind in the period of the years 1960 and 1970. The Campaign used to integrate a ‘campaign model of social politics’, under the Ministry of Education and Culture. The Campaign for the Education of the Blind operated in lines of action that involved the diffusion of textbooks.; the education of braille in Teacher Training Courses; the qualification of the blind for industrial activities; financial assistance and agreement with the National Campaign of Rural Education. The press is prioritized as source given the peculiarities not provided by other sources, ‘such as wealth of debates, the yearning and utopias of the educational projects’.
