RENK, Valquíria Elita  and  MASCHIO, Elaine Cátia Falcade. For a history of primary school in the immigration context: schooling experiences between Slavic and Italian Peninsula immigrants in the State of Paraná. Rev. Bras. Hist. Abstract: This paper aimed at a comparative analysis of the experiences of primary schooling between Slavic and Italian Peninsula immigrants who have settled down in the State of Paraná from the last fortnight of the 19th century. Taking an overview on the process of foreign colonization in the State, the immigrant initiatives are highlighted to create different types of elementary schools. In order to understand the singularities of these initiatives, this proposal is part of the Cultural History perspective. The study offers a reflection on the possibilities of writing a school history in the context of immigration in the State of Paraná. It aims to understand the school as a place of culture and its institutionalization as an eminent process of political disputes and conflicts.

Keywords : colonies; school institutions; ethnic schools.
