Abstract

COSTA, Regina Couto da  and  COSTA, Laís de Miranda Crispim. Action of the Student Movement of the Alagoas Federal University in the democratization process in Brazil. Rev. Bras. Hist. Educ [online]. 2020, vol.20, e134.  Epub Aug 01, 2020. ISSN 2238-0094.  https://doi.org/10.4025/rbhe.v20.2020.e134.

This article analyzes the performance of the Student Movement (SM) of the Federal University of Alagoas (FUAL) in the late 1970s, beginning of the process of redemocratization of Brazil, from the perspective of Pierre Bourdieu. The following were used asoral statements from undergraduate Nursing students who participated in the FUAL SM during this period and the bibliographic production on the history of SM in Brazil and Alagoas. For data analysis we used the historical method, triangulating a discussion between oral and written sources and the adopted theoretical framework. With this, it was noted that the FUAL organized SM, through the Central Student Directory (CSD), had a relevant role in the reconstruction of the SM inside and outside the field of education, as well as in the national scenario.

Keywords : student attitude; political awareness; history of education.
