Abstract

The article discusses the use, by Brazilian educational historiography, of the concepts Escola Nova Católica and Escolanovismo Católico, referenced by a study of the academic productions of the last three decades. Based on an exploratory-descriptive methodology, levels of use of the two concepts were identified, unfolded in related expressions. The investigation developed in one of the historical-phylological perspectives that, in a way, have focused on the most recent investigations related to Intellectual History: the Conceptual History of German origin in the wake of historian Reinhart Koselleck (2006). The research identified different uses and appropriations of expressions and reaffirmed the relevance of new similar historical-conceptual studies.
