Abstract

NEUHOLD, Roberta dos Reis. The centrality of didactics in the founding project of the journal Sociologia. Rev. Bras. Hist. Educ [online]. 2023, vol.23, e289.  Epub Sep 26, 2023. ISSN 2238-0094.  https://doi.org/10.4025/rbhe.v23.2023.e289.

Founded in 1939, the journal Sociologia established itself as a vehicle for the dissemination of theories and research in the social sciences, having been the first and, for a long time, the longest-lasting journal in the area in Brazil. A silenced aspect in the history of sociological thought and little explored, contemporaneously, in studies on the teaching of sociology, the concern with the didactics of the social sciences was at the heart of the journal's founding project. What was the influence of its creators in shaping the journal’s original project? What were the characteristics of the didactic proposal? What is the profile of the first collaborators? These are questions addressed in this work that compiled the texts published between 1939 and 1950 to, using content analysis, characterize the didactic phase of the magazine.

Keywords : scientific journal; history of sociology teaching; Brazilian social thought.
