Abstract

This article shares comparative research conducted in Brazil and Spain on female militancy in the university student movement during dictatorial periods. To this end, it begins with reflections on the historical context, the gender question, and student organization. The sources used are essentially primary, from the archives of the political police of both countries. The article intends to resort to and socialize on the common conditions of insertion of women in public life, the specific characteristics of militancy and violence suffered, due to the gender issue, as well as the fundamental contributions of women in the process of struggle against violence emanating from the state, in the process of organization and reorganization of the university student movement, in both countries.
