The Aprendizados Agrícolas [Agricultural Learnings] were created based on Decree no. 8.319 of 1910, with the objective of elementary agricultural training. Until 1934, such institutions were in competition with another model of elementary agricultural education, the Patronatos Agrícolas. In this article, using laws, decrees, regulations and ministerial reports, I present a reflection on the reform of agricultural education that occurred in 1934, which created a specific body within the Ministry of Agriculture, Industry and Commerce (MAIC) to manage the agricultural education, the Agricultural Education Directorate (DEA). This reform demonstrated a change in the thinking of those who created the laws, with a resumption of the Learning model, consolidating it.
