LUIZ, Viviane Marinho. Child participation in the daily life of a quilombola community: learning from the leaders. Rev. Comunic [online]. 2014, vol.21, n.1, pp.9-21. ISSN 2238-121X.  https://doi.org/10.15600/2238-121X/comunicacoes.v21n1p9-21.

This paper is a narrative of the historical particularity of the Ivaporunduva quilombola community, located in the Vale do Ribeira region between the States of São Paulo and Paraná, Brazil. Starting from the stories of the generations that live in this community that we sought to understand how they signify their history and the history of their people. The adopted methodology, of an ethnographic approach, was to follow the daily life of the community, understanding their educational process through a diffuse process, as well by the analysis of the talk of the young Ivaporunduva quilombola, their children, establishing correlations between their utterances and the educational process implemented by the adult members. In the Ivaporunduva quilombo, the cultural history is based on oral tradition, which occurs in the interactions within and between families and with sister quilombola communities. For the Ivaporunduva quilombola, but not only for them, territoriality represents the locus for the reproduction of life in its material and non material aspects. The earth is like a mother who welcomes, gives support and provides for the reproduction of life. They present the land as a historical, social and political subject that rejects its subjectification.
