This article aims at establishing a dialogue between the Initial and In-Service Training of Teachers Policy and the National Curriculum Guidelines for the Quilombola School Education, starting from the differentiated education occurring in the quilombola territory of Conceição das Crioulas, State of Pernambuco. It highlights some challenges present in the training of education professionals, as the educational principles adopted by these guidelines are followed. The approaches used in this paper were identified in a survey conducted in the quilombola territory of Conceição das Crioulas between 2011/2012 aiming at identifying which aspects of the educational proposal under development in that territory could be characterized as a differentiated education. Furthermore, it aims to understand how the history of the quilombola struggle and organization can or should or is inserted throughout the school life, especially in the promotion of the training of teachers in that territory.
