YADE, Juliana de Souza Mavoungou. Black territories: migrations and the reterritorialization of the urban area of the periphery. Rev. Comunic [online]. 2014, vol.21, n.1, pp.167-190. ISSN 2238-121X.  https://doi.org/10.15600/2238-121X/comunicacoes.v21n1p167-190.

This essay deals with the migratory movements that occurred among the black population in the post-abolition period. It includes stories of their arrival in the town of Carapicuíba - São Paulo, in the first half of twentieth century, which describe the processes of the reterritorialization of the space. Our reflection is the result of a research for a master’s theses in education using the life history, via the oral history and use of photographic sources to create references for the black people in the city of Carapicuíba.

Keywords : Migration; Black Population; Periphery.
