Abstract

CONTIERO, ALEX SANDER  and  TOMMASIELLO, MARIA GUIOMAR CARNEIRO. The Continued Progression Regime in the State of São Paulo: indicators and perspectives for further research. Rev. Comunic [online]. 2015, vol.22, n.1, pp.119-140. ISSN 2238-121X.  https://doi.org/10.15600/2238-121X/comunicacoes.v22n1p119-140.

This work aims to contribute to a better understanding of the implementation of the Continued Progression Regime (CPR) and its results by means of an investigation into master’s and doctorate scientific works on the CPR – implemented in the state of São Paulo from 2000 to 2012 – characterizing the indicators and prospects for further research. This qualitative and descriptive research investigated 69 abstracts of dissertations and theses on the subject in São Paulo, provided by the databank of the Higher Education Personnel Training Coordination (Capes). The results show that CPR was and still is a controversial matter to teachers, students, parents, and researchers and its democratic and inclusive goals have also been affected, said the researchers. The CPR may have contributed to students to remain in school, but it has not extended the possibility of overcoming learning difficulties.
